At Integrate.io, Inc our greatest asset is our customers.  We love our customers and they love us, so we are launching a new blog series called, Customer Spotlight where each month we feature one of our many valued Integrate.io customers.  This is a fun series and we are looking forward to more releases very soon. Without further adieu, we are happy to announce our first post with Tony Lardio from Darwill.  Enjoy!

FD: Thank you for taking the time to talk with us today, Tony.  Before we begin, can you tell us a bit about Darwill and your role with the company? TL: Darwill is a direct mail/marketing company from Hillside, IL. We are a family owned company that has been in business for many decades. Darwill is a great employer and gives a lot back to the community. I serve as the Data Warehouse Manager and .Net Developer for Darwill.

FD: How did you discover Integrate.io? TL: My manager asked me to research your service as we were looking to replicate large datasets to our data warehouse on Amazon AWS Redshift.

FD: What was the most appealing facet of Integrate.io? TL: It is a very simple solution to replicate your data in AWS. It's literally a simple wizard that walks you through the setup process.

FD: How does Darwill.com utilize Integrate.io? TL: Darwill utilizes Integrate.io to replicate our transaction data from Amazon AWS Aurora to Amazon AWS Redshift.

FD: How long have you been using Integrate.io? TL: We've been using Integrate.io for approximately one year.

FD: Often customers are concerned with complicated setup and configuration, can you tell us a bit about your experience getting setup with Integrate.io? TL: As mentioned up above that is is literally a wizard that walks you through. It is very easy to configure but it does require a some knowledge of how Amazon AWS works.

FD: Before Darwill.com came to Integrate.io, had you looked at any of our competitors to handle your replication to Amazon Redshift?  If so, what led you to choose Integrate.io over the competitors? TL: We looked at some solutions on the AWS side but found them to be to manual. Integrate.io replication just happens after you set it up, which was a big advantage over competitors.

FD: Have you experienced any problems with Integrate.io and if so, how did we help to remedy the problems you may have experienced? TL:  Some run of the mill errors have come up and the Integrate.io staff helped me resolve them quickly, the support team is great and the fact that we don't pay for support is even better.

FD: We are always looking to improve our platform and take customer feedback seriously.  Do you have any suggestions on how we can improve our service or any features you’d like to see in future versions of our platform? TL: I would like to see the ability to start and pause on a table level instead of an application level. The ability to stop all sync if you get to a certain row count or cost.

(*Editor's note, both of these features are currently in development and should be available in the next 1-2 months)

FD: If a colleague or partner of Darwill.com was looking for a replication solution, how likely are you to recommend Integrate.io to them? TL: I would probably just go ahead and set it up for them. Integrate.io is a great solution to this problem.

FD: Besides the aforementioned question regarding suggestions, are there any further opportunities for us to improve? TL: Nothing comes to mind besides giving James a vacation. ;-) I may have to take a bribe for this one. :-).

FD: Thanks for answering our questions, do you have any parting thoughts you’d like to share with us and our readers? TL: Integrate.io is a solid solution with a great support staff. If you need replication of your data I would recommend at least giving them a chance, you won't be disappointed.

FD: Thank you again for taking the time to speak with us, on behalf of Integrate.io we appreciate you being a valued customer and look forward to helping Darwill.com with your replication needs as you grow.
